TaskCapture Support

Problem
How do I restore my data if it seems lost?

ADVICE: Make sure to export your data regularly, just in case. Once exported, data can be used in other applications so it works as another backup. Also, we recommend backing up your entire TaskCapture System folder as a part of regular maintenance because you never know what can happen on a computer!

Solution
Windows
To recover TaskCapture data, copy the backup of the data into the working DB folder.
1. Quit TaskCapture.
2. Navigate to the TaskCapture System folder in Program Files.
3. Open the folder ŚClient DB Folder BackUp':
C:\Program Files\TaskCapture System\Client DB Folder BackUp.
4. Select All and Copy (Ctrl/A, Ctrl/C). Open the folder ŚClient DB Folder':
C:\Program Files\TaskCapture System\Client DB Folder.
5. Paste (Ctrl/V). When asked to replace files, answer Yes. Your previous TaskCapture data should now be active on next launch.

Mac
To recover TaskCapture data, copy the backup of the data into the working DB folder.
1. Quit TaskCapture.
2. Navigate to the TaskCapture Folder inside: User:Library:Preferences.
3. Copy the CONTENTS of the ŚClient DB Backup' to the ŚClient DB Folder' in the same location, replacing the data inside.
4. TaskCapture data should now be active on next launch.

On Mac OS X my TaskCapture tool bar is under the menu bar and I can't grab the title bar to move it. This happens on some monitors when first launched. Temporarily change resolution, move it out to the middle of the screen, Then change your resolution back. When you quit TaskCapture, the new location will be retained.
When launching Windows TaskCapture a System Error message appears. 1. Quit TaskCapture.
2. Make sure to update to the latest version of TaskCapture.
3. Navigate to folder: C:/Program Files:TaskCapture System and Delete the file called TC_cache.bin.
When trying to Install a newer version, installer says "A newer version already exists." Navigate to your Library:Receipts folder and delete the TaskCapture receipt.
Dialog doesn't pop up for my application even though it's listed in the prefs. Make sure the document has a real name, not Untilted, And make sure you are using a supported version. Upgrade to a newer TaskCapture if available.
I'm having trouble registering the software. We have several methods available depending on the circumstance:
1. Online registration using the Registration Dialog: Either use the credit card form that appears in the dialog to purchase or if you have already purchased, enter the Purchase Code at the top of the dialog. You should see a "Congratulations..." message after you succeed. If not, try method #2.
2. Online registration using the GLUON License Utility: On Mac it's installed in the Applications:Utilities folder. Enter your Purchase Code and press Verify Code, then finish by clicking Install Selected Licenses.
3. Offline registration using Request Code / Answer Code method: If an online connection can't be made to our license server, you will be presented a different dialog that has a special unique code generated by your computer. Call or email support@captureworks.com for a matching code to complete the registration.
